SMALL OF POLITICIANS FROM SMALL ENCLAVE ARE ATTEMPTING TO MANIPULATTHE MEDIA JUST PRIOR TO THE MILLAGE ELECTION.

The township is expected to vote on the matter at its next board meeting, which is planned for Aug. 3 -- three days tardy of Flushing's recommended July 31 deadline.

POLITICAL GADFLY JOHN TUCKER GETS HIS 15 SECONDS

Township Treasurer John Tucker voiced opposition to the proposed 0.9 mileage increase, claiming that the Aug. 4 election is a ploy to take advantage of expected high voter turnout in Flint, where a new city mayor will also be elected. Hurley Medical Center is a Flint-owned hospital.

POLLING SAYS THERE IS A GROUNDSWELL OF SUPPORT FOR HURLEY HOSPITAL

The mileage proposal is the only item on all Genesee County ballots aside from Burton and Flint.

THE VOICES OF REASON AND RESPONSIBILITY ARE IN THE MAJORITY Clio

Commissioner Eileen Marshall voted to not support Flushing in the lawsuit, because she objected to the way the challenge was being done and the wording.

TUCKER, .....JUST WAIT UNTIL ONE OF YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS HAS AN EMERGENCY WITH A NEW BORN. WHY HAS TUCKER INJECTED RACE THROUGH THE CODE WORDS SUBURBAND /URBAN?

"It was done at a time when the city of Flint was going to have a high turnout and nobody else has got anything," said Tucker, who also said Genesee County commissioners are attempting to use "suburban money to pay for urban problems" in regards to the proposal.

TUCKER APPEARS TO BE AN EXPERT ON STAND UP COMEDY

"If anyone tells you differently, they're kidding you," he said.

HURLEY IS THE CROWN JEWEL OIF GENESEE COUNTY

If passed, the mileage increase would create $10 million per year toward the hospital's $360-million operation, which includes standout services like neonatal intensive care and a Level I trauma center.

THE TOWNSHIP INFLATES THE COST

The election will cost about $5,000 for the township to host.

OPPORTIUNIST TUCKER IS STANDING ALONE

Trustee Tony Brown agreed with Tucker's points from a political standpoint, but still said he would vote in favor of the mileage.

TONY BROWN IS A SAINT

"My point is that Hurley Medical Center is one of the finest medical institutions that we have," he said. "Hurley Hospital has saved my life on more than one occasion -- I support Hurley Hospital."

LISTEN TO KRUG, THAT WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT…..

Township Clerk Bob Krug also recalled an incident where he credited the medical center for saving the life of his oldest grandson. "There's no question in my mind that it was the facility itself," he said. "I will support it only based on that."

TUCKER MUST A FRINGE CONSPIRACY THEORIST, HE HAS SEEN ELVIS IN FENTON

Krug expressed disappointment toward the county commissioners if Flushing proves the mileage proposal to be illegal.

TUCKER BROUGHT UP RECALL AND RESIGNATION, HE MUST HAVE LOOKED IN A MIRROR

"If indeed they didn't have the authority, then we should be having elections sometime in November to replace all of them, because they should resign," he said.

JUST BEFORE THE ELECTION WITH MAXIMUM PRESS,

The township will review documentation outlining Flushing's legal challenge of the mileage before voting on whether to join in the city's efforts at its Aug. 3 meeting.
